The band was originally composed of a group of Music Education majors at Chico State University. To this day, many of the band members are music teachers at various public schools in Northern California.

On the other hand, a few have left the profession to seek other careers -- ranging from dental hygienist to parole officer!

Only one, however, has defected to the enemy: Don Loflin. He actually left teaching to become an administrator! That's right, a school principal. We've allowed him to stay with the band in spite of this, but he's not allowed to discuss his work while in lederhosen!
