Steve dates back to the early years of the band. (Not quite old enough for carbon dating, but close.) He was a percussion major in college and was the band's original drummer. However, our original trombone player graduated and left the group in our first year, so Steve suddenly decided to learn trombone ("No problem; I'll learn trombone and be back in a few minutes!"). Steve must have enjoyed the change, because he has remained in the trombone section ever since.
Steve later decided that the band needed even more trombone players, so he rounded up another trombonist for the section. Of course, it took a while; Don Dixon had to be born, grow up, and learn to play trombone before he could join his dad in the section!
